... mechanisms in the mind sought to grind, gears meshing together to fitfully turn, each cog put in its place, well timed, moving on endlessly was the gearhead herself could only watch, adding to the machine, watching as it worked, waiting to leave a mark. Broken workings were brought to the place were she could be found, left to be repaired, to be restored, to returned, better than had been found. Testaments to that line of work littered across pale skin, scattered about the workbenches and hung from hooks and baskets mesh. Temper was hot and burning, bitter upon captive tongue, words dealt quick and harsh, easily brought and won. The past damned, the future gave less than invitation, and every present moment was but a reminder dealt with. Few burdens pressed down upon those shoulders, a certain man with hellfire eyes and persistence chipping away at the carefully maintained control - to customers, swallowing damned remarks - faces turning up from the background. On her lingered the traces of oil, metal, blood, and marks in the shape of large paw prints. On, her movements carried through that life, blinded and uncaring, but always ready for the fight. With gears in the head, metal in the blood, and fire on the tongue - so little could be lost and so much could be won.
Featured here is one of my newest, Charlie Vega, who I have only just managed to draw. Her style is an even mix of industrial and seasoned pin-up, and as her tattoos give testament, she is a mechanic. Most of her work is done under the ganglord Fox, Javier Alvero, with which she has a bit of a strained relationship. The man works endlessly to hang around her, trying to win himself a one night stand, but always managing to fail. Having been raised by military parents, her taste is a bit more good than the druglord can quite give her. Charlie never fails to speak her mind, has a hairtrigger temper, and has a habit of pushing away all likely friends with her words. However, she is very protective of those she likes, and even moreso of those she loves, and would die for any one of those close to her. She also has five dogs - Anabis, Iris, Hera, Maximus, and Daud.
One more my style has thrown me for a bit of a loop, which is to be expected. With the holiday season upon us, there will be a lot of strange and unusual offerings in terms of art. The linework for this was actually completed a while back, but, I let it sit for a while, as I was going to traditionally color it - but decided against it. As ever, I have no idea if this is enjoyed. As ever, the textures and brushes I used on the background are from my Adv. Graphic Design class.
